Why is food more expensive on delivery apps??? š¤§
Drive-Thru vs. Delivery Apps šš±
Have you guys ever noticed it’s cheaper to use a drive-thru than a delivery food app?
One sick, rainy day will make you download Uber Eats, DoorDash, or Grubhub and trust me, I still order from this day.
Doesn’t change the fact they overcharge on regular menu items. š¤§
Why I Still Do It… š¤·♀️
I’ve done it, and I still do it frequently, disregarding the price changes, because man… I just want that taco without having to drive for it. Cold feet and frozen hands on a steering wheel? I think not. I’d rather press a few buttons and bam!!! Food at my door! š¤§š¤§š
The Price Truth šø
The way my life is set up right now (3 kids, bills galore!) I cannot afford extra dollars splurged to a company. I could understand if the payments went more to the drivers… but let’s be honest, companies do NOT pay them a fair wage. Especially considering the drivers are doing the real work.
Yes, I still tip, but that $10 burger? The restaurant only wanted $10 for it. The delivery app adds a couple more $$ plus a service fee. Suddenly, that $10 burger isn’t $10 anymore—it’s $12.99.
Am I mad? Nah. Just shook. I just want to eat without sacrificing an arm and a leg for it. šš¤§
I’ll Pay Extra… Sometimes š
Cold and rainy? I’ll pay $3 extra. Snowy? You bet your bottom dollar I’m emptying my wallet. But when bills need paid or something unexpected comes up, those overcharges and hidden fees hit hard.
It feels illegal. šš¤£
The Real Truth š
We’re being taken advantage of in so many ways, but our minds are stuck in a mess we can’t untangle. It’s not you. It’s not me. It’s just corporate greed in full effect.
I’m LivvyInTheLife! I love pattern recognition and paying attention. This caught my eye so fast, I figured you guys should be on the scope about it too.
We truly need to bring back the bartering, and trading. Corporations have us in a chokehold!
